Company History
With more than 70 years in the industry, Wilson-Garner is a family-owned and operated company known for our exceptional service and dedication to manufacturing American-made, cold-formed custom fasteners in small quantities. Here’s how we got to where we are today:

1948 - Wilson-Garner Company is founded
George Wilson and George Garner founded the company in Detroit, Michigan as a distributor of cutting tools, die supplies, abrasives, and fasteners.

1957 - Our Hazel Park plant is opened
Wilson-Garner begins to manufacture small quantities of tools and fasteners for our burgeoning customer base of automotive OEMs and suppliers.

1964 - Wilson-Garner is purchased by longtime employee
Ty Pinchback purchases the company, and the Pinchback family continues to own and operate Wilson-Garner to this day.

1967 - Wilson-Garner receives a US Patent
Our asymmetric place bolt received the patent, and was then approved for use by the Department of Defense. This marks Wison-Garner’s start in the manufacture of parts for the US Government and military OEMs.

1972 - Our cold form plant is opened in Harrison Township.
This new plant enabled us to make cold-headed fasteners from scratch. This year also marks the move of our cutting tool manufacturing plant to Troy, Michigan.

1995 - The Harrison Township cold form plant is expanded
The company decided to focus on cold forming, selling the cutting tool manufacturing plant and distributorship to allow for this expansion of the cold-form plant.

2006 - The cold form plant expands capabilities again
Now with greater custom fastener production capabilities, Wilson-Garner remains a family-owned and operated company, with second and third-generation Pinchback family members running the business.
At Wilson-Garner we do one thing really well, and we’ve done it for quite some time. We specialize in limited runs of cold-formed bolts, screws, and studs made from carbon and alloy steel.
